Amazons have just had a huge shake-up, and all the rosters and received wisdom that has worked for years has all been torn-up. But never fear, in this guide, we are going to give you the complete low-down on how to build your new Amazons for both League and Tournament play.
The Amazon Roster
Eagle Warrior Linewomen
The Amazon Linewoman dodged any changes in the Roster update, and retains the average stat line, low armour, but crucially, keeps the Dodge skill. This means they remain one of the best linos in the game, being extremely frustrating for opponents to deal with and becoming incredible with even one skill.
Python Warrior Throwers
Amazon Throwers now have a couple of useful skills in On The Ball and Safe Pass. The former is a very effective tool to prevent agility teams reliably stealing the ball from you. These have pushed the price of your Throwers up though, so you may want to run only one.
Piranha Warrior Blitzers
Dropping from four of your team to only two was a big loss, and losing Block and Strength Access wasn’t great either, but Piranha Warriors did gain a point of Movement and two very interesting skills in Jump Up and Hit and Run. This means your Blitzers play a little differently now, leaning toward a less bashy style and more of a ball-hawking and ball-carrying role.
Jaguar Warrior Blockers
This brand new positional puts the muscle back into Amazons with a powerful ST4 presence. With Dodge on board as well, your Blockers become quite versatile tools, able to be hitters, mobile guards or even ball-carriers.
League Builds
1m TV Roster w/o Thrower
2 x Jaguar Warrior Blockers
2 x Piranha Warrior Blitzers
7 x Eagle Warrior Linewomen
4 x Reroll
1 x Dedicated Fans
This build eschews a Thrower to focus on a Dodgy running style using the strengths of the Blockers and Blitzers. This build can not move the ball as far or as fast as a Thrower build, but it plays very reliably on both sides of the ball, and has a ton of rerolls.
1m TV Roster w/Thrower
2 x Jaguar Warrior Blockers
2 x Piranha Warrior Blitzers
1 x Python Warrior Thrower
6 x Eagle Warrior Linewomen
3 x Reroll
Dropping a Reroll lets us add a Thrower in to give an extra dimension. You have 40k spare in this build, which you can either invest into Dedicated Fans, save for your next purchase, or, theoretically, use to swap another Linewoman for another Thrower. Personally I would invest in DF.
League Development And Skill Choices
Depending on which of the above options you take, you will want to prioriotise adding extra bodies or extra rerolls. Amazon Linewomen are relatively cheap, so even if you don’t want to select particular positionals, you have no reason not to carry a decent size bench of Linewomen on the team to give you resilience and fouling options.
14 players and four rerolls is a reasonable goal by season end. After that an Apothecary is a very sound purchase, as even with their defensive abilities, when Amazons do get knocked down, injuries often follow.
Below you can see the best first skills for your team. Amazons have to make a decision on who their primary ball-carrier is going to be. Whoever that is needs Sure Hands.
Depending on the length and format of your league, saving for certain Secondaries can be worthwhile. Secondaries are marked inItalics.

Tournament Builds
1.1m TV Build
With cheap players and limited positional counts, Amazon Tournament Builds don’t have huge flexibility. This build hits 1m on the nose by taking all our positionals.
2 x Jaguar Warrior Blockers
2 x Piranha Warrior Blitzers
2 x Python Warrior Thrower
6 x Eagle Warrior Linewomen
4 x Reroll
With 12 players and 4 Rerolls, this is a good all-purpose build. You might not want or need two throwers, but the only real alternatives here are replacing with Linewomen, which doesn’t gain you much. If you replace both Throwers you can take two Linewomen instead and an Apothecary, which can be a very strong Tournament option.
At 1.15m or 1.2m you can add additional Linewomen, Apothecary, or look to add another Reroll, though at 60k this might require some further shuffling.
Builds Including Stars
Amazons got some very fun new stars with their recent update, and with their cheap Linewomen they have always been a team able to make room for some celebrity assistance. Because of their Lustrian Superleague rule, Amazons have quite a specific set of stars available, but they have four very good choices in the c.200k range:Estelle La Veneaux,Boa Kon’ssstriktr,Karla Von KIll, andThe Mighty Zug. The below build can work with all of them.
1.1m TV Build with Flexible Star option
1 x Star of your choice
2 x Jaguar Warrior Blockers
2 x Piranha Warrior Blitzers
6 x Eagle Warrior Linewomen
2 x Reroll
This build comes to 1090K TV with a 220k Star.
If your Tournament Pack comes in at 1.15m or 1.2m; you can add Throwers, Linewomen, Rerolls or Apothecary to your taste.
