The Arcade Vaults

Our very own Leah was a guest on episode five of The Arcade Vaults podcast. The Arcade Vaults are a community space and arcade, a place for people to learn and share whether you're just getting started in the world of video games or you're a seasoned developer. Leah joins hosts Tom Pritchard and Chris Munasinha to discuss the latest news in the world of video games. Check it out here

Kickstarter Picks

Since I last wrote, I've been backing books on Kickstarter and I'd like to share three projects I'm back this last couple of weeks.

Dancing With Bullets Under a Neon Sun: A Light Cyberpunk RPG

What the creators say:

"Dancing with Bullets Under a Neon Sun is a weird cyberpunk RPG for fans of the OSR. Although based on The Black Hack, it is not just a clone with renamed classes, building on the system to create a new experience, introducing new mechanics to suit the setting and tone, and revamping character creation."

I almost backed this after reading the title and after looking through the campaign and seeing that Dirk Leichty is taking care of the artwork and that friesens.com, who printed Silent Titans and Hot Springs Island would also be printing the book I know this will be a high quality, great looking book.

Shareware Heroes

OK, I admit it, I'm a sucker for a good book, especially if it's game-related. Shareware Heroes cover the story of "How the golden age of shareware subverted, shook up, and reshaped the video game industry, and kept independent game development alive."

Myrrk Book One of the Blighted Well

Apparently I'm also a sucker for isometric illustrations too. I first came across Myrrk on the Dungeon Punx Facebook group and was impressed with the art style. If you're into Rock and metal artwork than it'll be work checking out.
